Body Believed To Be Missing Quakertown Man Found, Officials Say

The body of a man that was found Sunday, Aug. 21 was believed to be that of a possibly confused Quakertown resident who had gone missing more than a week ago, says the mental health facility where he was reportedly receiving treatment.

"It is with a heavy heart that we report that there is no longer an active search for Adam Smith," New Vitae Wellness and Recovery wrote on Facebook Monday, Aug. 22.  "The police believe his body has been found."

Smith, 39, was last seen around 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 11 in the area of Front Street and Park Avenue, local police said.

Police at the time said Smith may be confused and wandering around the Quakertown area due to medical reasons.

Officials did not specify a cause of death or where the body was found.
